Employee Spotlight on Rachel Newman

Rachel came to work for the Southern Professionals team in February, 2018. She and her husband Josh live in the Nashville, TN area with their 2 young children,  Ava Kate and Tripp, and fur babies Stella the Great Dane and Maggie the  Goldendoodle. Rachel was born and raised in Nashville, and still calls it home.  She and Josh will celebrate 9 years of marriage in 2018, but have known each other since Kindergarten.

Rachel comes to us with over 11 years of retail experience, 9 of that spent at Dollar General in Marketing,  merchandising and Allocations. If her name is familiar, she was one of the supportive Merchandising Assistants who has helped our team along the way! Now she supports our team daily as the primary support analyst of our SPI “dollar store” side of the business. She earned her B.S in Consumer Science Merchandising & Design from Middle Tennessee State University.

Travel, vacationing at the beach (or any water destination), shopping, spending time with her family & friends, and home remodeling/decorating, and flipping houses are some of her favorite pastimes. She and Josh laugh that their date nights tend to include a stop at Lowes & Home Depot before wrapping up the evening!

What gets Rachel out of the bed each morning (besides those fun kiddos and dogs) is knowing that the day is a gift, and you have the opportunity to make it great for others by spreading God’s love and happiness to anyone around you. Her motto – “Choose Happy!”
