Giving Back – Fertile Soil

This Post we will spotlight on an international charity with direct ties to one of our Southern Professionals team members.

Fertile Soil

On January 1, 2017 the Chinese government began strictly regulating all foreign-owned non-governmental organizations (NGO). These NGOs included organizations which were focused on ministry as well as humanitarian aid projects. Unable to comply with these new regulations, many organizations had to abandon their projects, leaving many of the rural people without some basic needs. Southern Professionals has partnered to start Fertile Soil, an agricultural development company in China that will focus on using pecan farms to help provide access and services to these areas in need.

Fertile Soil Well Construction
Building one of the rural village wells.

A huge problem in the rural areas of China is with water-borne illnesses. Dysentery is responsible for many child deaths each year. Through this business venture it will allow us to build water tanks and latrines, as well as provide other community training that will be beneficial to those rural communities.

This project has also captured attention from various individuals and companies. CCF Brands, one of America’s largest egg producers, is now working with Fertile Soil to launch joint ventures in other areas that also need help. Many thanks for all our clients and their business, which helps us to do these projects that help make the world a better place for others!
